By Karina Trinidad on April 23, 2020 • ( 5 Comments )

3 Boyfriend Cardigans (Love Notions). Easiest shawl collar & fun hacks.

By Karina Trinidad on October 11, 2019 • ( 2 Comments )

The Boyfriend Cardigan from Love Notions has a Women’s and a Girls version and they are exactly the same. The difference is the sizes, of course, but we sew them in exactly the same. In this post, you will see a little girl’s version I made for my […]

A shirt can also be a light jacket. 2 CUTE Tropicana Shirts (Wardrobe by Me).

By Karina Trinidad on March 19, 2021 • ( Leave a comment )

Sewing with wovens was my first love and continues to be what I am drawn to, even though sewing woven styles might take a little longer, I am a sucker for the pretty classic styles. The Tropicana shirt from Wardrobe by Me fits the bill and has a […]

Using pretty scraps! Skylar Hoodie (Sinclair). Ingenious hidden pockets.

By Karina Trinidad on March 10, 2021 • ( Leave a comment )

There’s nothing more satisfying than using pretty scraps of leftover pieces of fabrics that are beautiful and great quality. I keep a bag of such scraps, hoping to find the best projects for them, eventually. I enjoy using athletic knits to make dresses, jackets and pants. These are […]

How to sew a stylish all-occasion knit blazer. Metra Blazer (Love Notions).

By Karina Trinidad on February 24, 2021 • ( Leave a comment )

The Metra Blazer from Love Notions is my newest blazer project and lets just say that I’m a sucker for blazers. It’s the type of garment that I have always LOVED sewing above others… since my teens and countless amounts have gone through my machines. You might think […]

Feeling good in a lined knit bodice. Margot Peplum (Love Notions). Extra V neckband.

By Karina Trinidad on February 19, 2021 • ( 1 Comment )

The Margot Peplum from Love Notions has had a sizing update and now included the full size range from XS to 5X. It has been a pattern I have enjoyed two times already, but funnily enough, I’ve always lengthened them into dresses. I’m just a sucker for dress […]

Super fascinating crossover front bodice. 2 Nyoka knit dress & top (Sinclair Patterns).

By Karina Trinidad on December 30, 2020 • ( 1 Comment )

The Nyoka top and dress for knit fabrics has a fascinating crossover front detail, and it captivated me as soon as I saw the line art posted on the Sinclair patterns facebook group. I have been impressed with the quality offered by Sinclair patterns and knew this new […]

Run! WORST fabric alert! Easy to sew Bardon Dress (FREE Peppermint pattern).

By Karina Trinidad on December 27, 2020 • ( 1 Comment )

The fabric I chose this time is super pretty, but it’s actually the worst fabric to work with: crinkle rayon. I made the Free Bardon dress from Peppermint magazine with this fabric. I’ll be discussing how this fabric behaves and what styles could be appropriate. As usual, I […]

How to lengthen short dolman super easily. 2 Vivaces. I loved matching stripes.

By Karina Trinidad on December 4, 2020 • ( Leave a comment )

Maybe you have patterns that have a short dolman sleeve only. You can lengthen short dolman sleeves easily and the Vivace Dolman is perfect for this tutorial. This pattern has been one of my all-time favorites from Love Notions. I’ve already made three versions of this gorgeous design. […]

How to sew this chic wrap style. 2 Gorgeous Pine Cove PJS (Itch to Stitch)

By Karina Trinidad on December 1, 2020 • ( 2 Comments )

I have a terrible habit of sleeping in whatever I can find. Typically, a horrid old t-shirt and even worse, one with the sleeves cut out messily. WHAT?! I know! I sew wonderful garments for myself to wear during the day and out of the house. My mum […]

The #rhapsodyblouse from @lovenotions is one of my all time faves and proof is that I’ve made 8 and can’t seem to stop! There are many options and all of mine are very differen😁
This is one of my #skylarhoodie from @sinclairpatterns with scraps of leftover fabrics. I used the flowery print originally to make the #nyokadress , also from @sinclairpatterns😉
This is my 2nd #seychellestop from @ItchtoStitch and I used red linen for the short pleated sleeve option. I sewed the facing exposed (hack) & added simple decorative stitches to the facing and hem. This version is more structured👍🏼
The #boyfriendcardigan from @lovenotions has been re-released with improved sizing and even more options than it already had. I used the new duster length version but made it even longer... 10” more. I also added cute faux leather accents and made it sleeveless. Such fun 🤩
This is my 1st #seychellestop from @ItchtoStitch and I made it during pattern testing. This woven design is a classic and well fitting. I always love a V neckline and this one uses facings. The sleeves on this version are long with slight gathers on the top and the bottom is gathered into a narrow cuff with a slit and single button loop. Love the delicate details. There’s a short pleated sleeve option too👍🏼
This is my lovely new red 😍 #WBMtropicana from @wardrobebymepatterns in a soft Swiss dot rayon ❤️. I really enjoy convertible collar and well drafted 2 piece raglan sleeve and the Tropicana has all of this PLUS the cutest slit detail of the sleeve hem 🤩
